About Sahar

The name SAHAR means:

” Awakening, Dawn, Enchantment, Fascination.
People with this name have a deep inner desire for love and companionship, and want to work with others to achieve peace and harmony.
People with this name tend to be quiet, cooperative, considerate, sympathetic to others, adaptable, balanced and sometimes shy. They are trustworthy, respecting the confidences of others, and make excellent diplomats, mediators and partners. They are often very intuitive. They like detail and order, and often find change worrisome. They may sometimes feel insecure or restless.
Sahar also means “sleeplessness, vigil, moon”.

Sahar El-Khatib received her yoga teacher’s certification from the Shri Kali Ashram in Goa, India, 2011.
She has since been practicing and teaching Tantra Yoga in Beirut, and wherever she goes in her travels around the world. She has been teaching children and adults of various ages, and enjoys teaching yoga in creative ways. Sahar is also a musician, playing drums and rhythms, exploring sound therapy, and uses music during the classes she guides. She also holds a Master Level Certificate in Reiki. She studied Graphic Design in LAU, Beirut, enjoys photography, and loves to travel.

Sahar Al Khatib has been learning and studying the Djembe, a West African Drum, since 2010, and has traveled to West Africa several times in pursuit of expanding her knowledge about the traditions and culture of the drum and it’s people. She has also traveled around the United States, and Mexico, following her Master and his International school and has become a certified Beginner Djembe teacher, since 2014 – 2015. For 5 years she has conducted and helped in Team Building workshops around Lebanon, and recently has been teaching regular classes. Some of these institutes that she worked with are: the Lebanese American University, Haigazian University, along with some NGO’s like INJAZ Lebanon, SPNL: The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon, SEPT: Save energy plant trees, and some Palestinian refugee camps in Saida, just to name a few. Sahar is also a certified Yoga Instructor,2011 in India, and has integrated the drums especially in her yoga classes for children; she has extensive experience in teaching children of all ages. She believes that the drum, which is a very special and the first primitive instrument, has been bringing people together for centuries, and playing the drum can easily uplift and heal everyone who plays or listens to it. Sahar has also been doing extensive research into sound, and music, and its effects on the brain and the well-being of everything and everyone; she believes that the new research into music and sound, whether played for entertainment or healing, or even moving objects, is the gateway to man-womankind evolution and transcendence. In her eyes, the drum is the center of the community that brings everyone together to uplift each other. She continues to pursue her passion and her knowledge and experience into learning several other types of drums and traditions.
